I just wanted to tell you again how
much I enjoyed the
Black and Purple concert at Fort
Qu'Appelle Elementary today.

The CD is great - thanks for signing it
for me.

And thank you to you and Braiden for
kindly giving a CD to Courtney (the
little girl in the wheelchair) when she
came in to get a signed poster.

She was very excited and wanted to
show her friends right away!

Anyway, keep up all the great work,
and keep the great songs coming. I
know you 'll go far!

Charlene - Qu'Appelle Elementary

I just wanted to say that I think your
music is amazing. I am listening to it a
lot and it touches me:)

I visited your website aswell, and saw
something with the bullying and stuff.
I really think it is amazing what you
did with that song.. yeah well can't
really describe it.

I get bullied alot, and it is just good to
see their are other people who care
about it in some way:)
Lots of Love,

Black And Purple

Black And Purple is an achievement more than anything. Braiden and I wrote this song one
night when we were just hanging out at my place. She’s awesome at putting lyrics together.
Braiden and I have been through the same sort of deal when it comes to dealing with
“fitting in” and being accepted in school. We were always kinda different from the other
kids, our love for music kept us apart from others who just wanted to live normal lives and
be normal kids. We were never that “normal” I guess, and that’s what forced us through
those tough times in school. Black and Purple is about dealing with being bullied and the
kind of mess it can turn into. Bullying is a huge issue in schools today and I feel that’s it’s
always been an issue. We wanted kids to be able to relate to this song and understand the
hurt and pain behind the victims of bullying. Even the bully’s themselves are victims of
hurt and pain. Most of all we wanted to point out that bullying is a two way street. People
who bully others are troubled and they pour those troubles down on their victims. We just
need to learn how to accept people for who they are, respect each other more and most of
all listen to each other so we can help.
