California California is my dream. It's the story of my dream and the discouragement that came along with having this dream. I always thought that when I made it in the biz, I'd be moving to Cali where all the stars are....you know like Alanis, Christina, Michelle and Sheryl! This song is a cry out to the whole concept of California ...warm summer nights, Hollywood Stars, heartbreak and overnight success stories. It basically asks the question, when will I get there? The song was inspired as well by the pretty steep ups and downs that I had been through in this industry and so it is a reflection of my frustration. I've learned that we all go through rough spots when we're trying to fulfil our dreams but hey ...just a reminder ... that nothing worth having is going to be easy, you gotta work hard and always give your all.
